SAN AGUSTÍN

The municipality of San Agustín is located in the southern corner of Colombia in the Huila department, close to the barren plains of the Páramo de las Papas which give birth to the most important Colombian river, Río Magdalena.

Although the Huila department is naturally blessed with optimal weather and soil conditions for coffee cultivation, the key to San Agustín great quality coffees is the growers themselves and the overwhelmingly small-scale dimension of the farms.

THE PRODUCERS

About 80% of the coffee growers farm on less than 3 hectares of land, committing themselves to produce and deliver the best coffee through a full comprehension of strict quality standards. These farms are often managed by individual families helped by their neighbors from time to time, which lead to more thorough management practices and great pride in the final product.
